WHAT WE BELIEVE
Driven by the Spirit of Christ, Greater Emmanuel Church is a community of believers in the Lord Jesus. We worship our God and King, work together in love and fellowship, and embrace our mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide.
Our faith is anchored in the Word of God and expressed through Spirit-led worship, compassionate service, and a deep commitment to one another and our community. We believe in the transforming power of Jesus Christ — that lives are changed, burdens are lifted, and hope is restored through a genuine relationship with Him.
At Greater Emmanuel Church, our beliefs are not just words on a page — they are the heartbeat of everything we do. We invite you to come experience a community where faith is lived out loud, love is freely given, and every person is valued.
OUR FOUNDATION OF FAITH
-
We believe the Bible is the infallible, inspired, authoritative Word of God and is the foundation for our belief, faith, practices, and daily living.
-
We believe that the is one God, who has revealed himself as Father, through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man (Deuteronomy 6:4: Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9: 1Timothy 3:16).
-
We believe everyone has sinned and needs salvation. We also believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Additionally, we believe that true salvation results in the forgiveness of sin and new life in the Spirit.
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit — God's presence and power active in the world today, empowering believers for worship, witness, and service.
-
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, build up believers, and extend the gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation and every person.
-
We believe in the power of prayer. We are a church that prays together, intercedes for one another, and trusts God to move in miraculous ways in response to the prayers of His people.
-
We believe that the gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose againg. We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). (Please read II Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:7; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the endwill be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (Please read I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
